A website for ceramics designer and artist, Shirley Bhatnagar. The name given to the company was based on the Japanese concept of Wabi-Sabi which is believes that beauty exists in irregularity.
Overall the brand tone we created was focused on humor and being quirky, characteristics that reflect Shirley's work. The home page is quirky and makes you want to interact with the various "characters" which represent various aspects of Shirley's work. We avoided using "e-commerce" lingo like Tableware etc. Instead we used words like Wine & Dine for tableware, Spaced Out for exhibitions, and Dead Pan for products. The colors of the rollovers in the product page are based on Shirley's glaze colors. Overall the site combines character and functionality in a unique manner.
