Kintsugi

A cycle of interlinked stories set between Japan and the jewelry-makers of Jaipur, and following the lives of 5 characters – Meena, Yuri, Hajime, Haruko and Leela – as they intersect / meet / collide in various ways. Through these characters, the stories also explore various ways of living, loving, creating – and ideas of incompleteness, imperfection and beauty.

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken things and making them beautiful again using gold to cement the broken pieces together. Since the book is fragmentary itself, and set between Japan and Jaipur – it might be an idea to use Jaipur pottery broken and fixed back together in the Kintsugi manner.
