A series of posters done at the workshop at Basel School of Design look at how the press uses its might and omnipresence to manipulate (repress) society with biased "news". How it oppresses us through its control on what makes it to the news and what doesn't. It also addresses the fact that how 24-7 news media compounds and exaggerates events and actually depresses us rather than looking at stories that are uplifting.
With the rise of independent media and social media, there is hope that we can get news from sources outside the press. News that is more democratically disseminated without the control of vested interests.
